Cory Booker berating Kristjen Nielsen

Senator Cory Booker abused Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen during a Senate hearing. He berated and bullied her.

He yelled at her.  He called her a liar. He wouldn’t let her talk, finish, answer or have her own opinion. There is a word for that behavior and it’s not a nice one.

Where is the women’s rights movement? Picture for one moment that was a White Republication Senator in that seat and a Black Democrat woman in Kirstjen Nielsen’s place. The main stream media would have been all over that.  The silence and hypocrisy is deafening. This author  (a woman) weighs in and a Black male Commentator (in a video) follows.

Cory Booker berating Kirstjen Nielsen

On Tuesday during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Department of Homeland Security oversight, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) berated Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. He was referring to President Donald Trump’s alleged “shithole” comments in a PRIVATE meeting over DACA.

After a long diatribe, he got to his “point” ( which was to rage on her and slam her remembrance of the meeting).

His comments are here and this authors are (following).

Booker , “Now, I’ve been in the Oval Office many times and when the commander in chief speaks, I listened. I don’t have amnesia on conversations I had in the Oval Office going back months and months.”

(Well good for you, Cory. Were you there???—No, you weren’t! He slammed her, called her a liar.)

“I had individual meetings with the president and I’ve had group conversations where there was, as you said, cross-talk. And why—why is this so important? Why is this so disturbing for me? Why am I frankly, seething with anger?”

(Your anger right here is MISPLACED – you are angry at a woman who was simply in the room – OTHERS said he didn’t say it either, give me a break!

Also, where were your “tears of rage” when the illegal immigrant broke into the New Jersey home and raped a 6 year old girl? You said NOT ONE WORD, Mr. Booker.)

“We have this incredible nation where we have been taught that it does not matter where you’re from, it doesn’t matter your color, your race, your religion, it’s about the content of your character.”

(Yes, your CHARACTER, Cory, like how you treat women who say things you don’t like. This is just your attempt to paint all who support the President as White Supremacists.)

“It’s about your values and your ideals, and yet we have language that from Dick Durbin to Lindsey Graham, they seem to have a much better recollection of what went on.”

(YOU WEREN’T THERE… it wasn’t recorded and yet, THEY are telling the truth and she isn’t? … is it because they said what YOU wanted to hear? Yes it is.)

“You’re under oath. You and others in that room that suddenly cannot remember. It was Martin Luther King that said there’s ‘nothing in this world more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”

(And you, Mr. Booker are showing yours RIGHT  NOW. You are spending your time on this and assigning all sort of inferences and references to a comment that YOU DIDN’T HEAR. IF he did say it, Lindsey Graham  called Mexico a Hellhole… did you berate him?)

And so here we are in the United States of America, and we have a history that is beautiful and grand and also ugly—where from this nation to others we know what happens when people sit by and are bystanders and say nothing.

When Oval Office rhetoric sounds like social engineering, we know from human history the dangers of that.”

(Oh brother, the drama….. IF he did say it, YOU Mr. Booker, were not ready for a New Yorker to be President, for sure. You would rather have beautiful, eloquent lies that blunt brash truth. )

He continued, “The commander in chief in an Oval Office meeting referring to people from African countries and Haitians with the most vile and vulgar language.

(During here he went on to try and tie White Supremacy with Trump’s alleged statement with some extremely twisted logic. )

That language festers when ignorance and bigotry is aligned with power—it’s a dangerous force in our country.

(Yep and you are showing it right now.)

Your silence and amnesia is complicity. Right now in our nation we have a problem.”

( Yes and it’s people playing the race card and Congress ragging on about THIS instead of doing their job and getting DACA done.)

He added, “I hurt when Dirk Durbin called me. I had tears of rage when I heard about this experience in this meeting, and for you not to feel that hurt and that pain and to dismiss some of their questions”….

(Tears of RAGE??? Seriously? How about shedding some “tears of rage” for the murders in Chicago, the 14 million AMERICAN kids living in poverty and that little 6 year old girl in your own state?)

He continues to berate and harang  her for almost 15 minutes, pounding on the table and when she tries to answer, he shuts her up and continues on.

Women all over America who have dealt with domestic violence are recognizing in Mr. Booker, the signs of an abuser.

The Drama, the grandstanding, the insults and the rage. All designed to punish someone who wasn’t “minding” him.
