Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz has introduced the “PENCIL Act” to remove Rep. Adam Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee.
Gaetz took to Twitter on Wednesday to announced that he introduced the
“Preventing Extreme Negligence with Classified Information Licenses Resolution,” or “PENCIL Act,” to remove Schiff.
“Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Congressman Adam Schiff should be removed from the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House and that his security clearance should be revoked immediately,” the resolution states. “Whereas Congressman Adam Schiff is the Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives.”
The acronym is a reference to “pencil neck,” which is what President Donald Trump has called Schiff countless times.
Last month, Mueller submitted his final report to the Department of Justice and officially ended his almost two-year probe into allegations that Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
Mueller stated that he found no evidence of collusion from Trump or anyone who worked for his campaign.
Attorney General William Barr also sent a memo to Congress outlining Mueller’s top conclusions, adding that the Department of Justice will not charge Trump with obstruction of justice.
So, after two years, there’s no evidence that Trump — or anyone on his campaign — colluded or obstructed justice.
