“We hold these truths to be self-evident,” the former vice president said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. “All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”
We next move to concerns over gun violence that, we correctly are told, “especially affects the Black and Brown communities.” It is so tragically true. Black and Brown communities in Democrat cities like Chicago, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Detroit, St. Louis, and Memphis are victims of gun violence in horrible numbers. It is heart-breaking. A Chicago daily paper, the Chicago Sun Times, now publishes a regular list of all people murdered in Chicago each day, and it identifies the victim’s race and whether Hispanic. It is heart-breaking. After decades and scores of years of constantly reelecting Democrats and their urban policies to preside over such continuing gun violence, one asks when will those cities’ voters finally give the other party a chance to offer an alternative approach? The strength of any political interest group in this country is to keep both parties guessing, both vying for your vote. When you signal to one side that they own you, you lose your leverage. That is the reason that Blacks do worst in this country’s all-Democrat enclaves. The people of Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, and St. Louis all have elected one Democrat after another to lead them. St. Louis has not had a Republican mayor since 1949. Detroit since 1962. Chicago since 1931. Baltimore since 1967. Where Democrats have owned the municipality’s electoral control and have governed unchallenged for decades, Blacks have the worst poverty, face the highest crime, receive the poorest education, emerge with the fewest prospects. That is because such elected Democrats are satisfied that they have the African-American vote in their pockets anyway, so they focus instead on meeting the demands and wants of other conflicting constituencies that seem to be in play.
New York City voters proved the thesis that a change in parties can reduce violent crime and gun deaths enormously, almost overnight. In 1989 they elected Democrat David Dinkins to be their mayor by 50.42 percent over challenger Rudy Giuliani’s 47.84 percent. The metropolis lost its sobriquet of “Fun City” and instead derisively became nicknamed “Gun City.” Four years later the voters tried the other way, going 51-48 percent for Giuliani over Dinkins. The Republican Giuliani was so successful in dramatically reducing crime and turning the city around that, four years later, he was reelected in a 58-41 percent landslide. Rudy Giuliani not only became a national figure but his eight years of success even laid the groundwork for billionaire Michael Bloomberg to succeed him as New York City mayor by running on the Republican line. In all, the extremely liberal city elected the Republican candidate through five consecutive elections over twenty years, and the city changed. Could that end to rampant and random gun violence, which particularly victimizes Black and Brown communities, happen in Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Memphis, and elsewhere? The evidence of New York City’s change demonstrates that it certainly could. Ultimately, no one but those cities’ voters can decide whether they will end the bleeding.
We meet DeAndra Dycus, the mother of a beautiful boy who was shot at a party and now is severely disabled — in a wheelchair, unable to feed himself, and who needs injections to control his muscle contractions. I have tears, as I watch. And then she says that “President Trump does not care … just as he did not care after Parkland.” My tears immediately stop. She is a liar. On February 16, 2018, the Palm Beach Post headlined: “Trump, First Lady Visit Parkland Shooting Victims at Broward Hospital” He and Melania flew to Florida to visit them. He then held a memorable meeting back in the White House with Parkland victims and family members. The event included parents of past school shooting victims and educators concerned about the safety of their schools. Here is living proof of the meeting that ran more than an hour. President Trump said:
We cannot imagine the depth of their anguish, but we can pledge the strength of our resolve. And we must do more to protect our children We have to do more to protect our children.
The lie is exposed. How dare she say the President did not care!
We move now to climate change. Joe Biden appears in a clip to tell us that, when he thinks of climate change, “I think of jobs.” That is exactly how we ended up losing more than $500 million on Solyndra. When Joe Biden promises jobs, Americans remember the Obama-Biden “shovel-ready jobs” that they promised. Obama finally conceded, amid giggles, that those jobs were “not as shovel-ready as we expected.” Remember the Obama-Biden $787 billion stimulus, the famous Obama-Biden “jobs bill” to fix things? As reported by Judicial Watch:
At least $55 billion of U.S. stimulus funds that President Barack Obama promised would jumpstart the economy and put Americans back to work will likely be lost to waste, fraud and abuse, according to an investigation that reviewed thousands of programs nationwide. Already, at least $5.5 billion of the administration’s massive $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act have gone to wasteful projects across the country, including a $3 million turtle crossing in northern Florida, the $10 million renovation of an abandoned train station that has been shut for three decades and 10,000 dead people getting Social Security stimulus checks.
The wasteful projects are documented in a lengthy report (“A Second Opinion on the Stimulus”) published this week by a Republican senator whose staff reviewed thousands of projects funded by stimulus dollars. The results, in a nutshell; “We’re wasting money we don’t have on things we don’t need,” according to Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn, who spearheaded the probe.
The investigation looked into the Obama Administration’s highly touted “shovel-ready” projects by region and state, determining at least $5.5 billion in wasteful spending so far and predicting nearly ten times that amount by the time all the stimulus funds are spent. Examples range from Maine to California as well as the senator’s home state of Oklahoma. Nearly $16 million will be used to repair dozens of seldom-used bridges in rural areas of Wisconsin and nearly $1 million to repave a backup runway in a remote Pennsylvania airport — with less than 10,000 passengers a year — named after a corrupt Democratic congressman (John Murtha) who has secured millions of dollars for the facility in recent years.
Other examples of abuse include $2 million for a nonprofit previously fired for bungling a federal low-income housing program, $1 million to build a guardrail around a nonexistent Oklahoma lake and nearly $600,000 for a New York town without a homeless problem to prevent homelessness. Town officials said they were shocked to receive the federal money because they did not request it and don’t have any sort of homeless crisis.
Further looking at the Obama-Biden waste, Judicial Watch noted the Department of Transportation Inspector-General’s findings:
[A] portion of the money has gone to costly and unnecessary projects that had no business getting emergency federal funding. Among them is a $14 million infusion to replace the airfield in a remote Alaska town (Akiachak) of about 650 residents located only 14 nautical miles from the state’s fourth-largest airport. Another $15 million went to replace a separate tiny Alaska town’s (Ouzinkie, population 167) gravel runway even though its harbor is equipped with a seaplane landing area. Other stimulus-funded projects at remote facilities that didn’t qualify include nearly $5 billion for a new taxiway in Findlay Ohio, $2.2 million for a runway extension at Wilbur Airport in Washington, $2 million for an apron at Missouri’s Warrensburg-Skyhaven Airport and nearly $1 million to design a runway at a small Dover, Delaware airport. None of the facilities have commercial passenger service and have extremely limited operations.… Additionally, four substantial grants went to recipients with a documented history of misusing government money. They include Guam International Airport Authority, Puerto Rico Port Authority, Owensboro-Daviess County in Kentucky and Pitkin County in Colorado.
Remember this: Obama placed Joe Biden in charge of supervising implementation of the stimulus.
Now for more entertainment. The performer Billie Eilish appears next. “You don’t need me to tell you things are a mess,” she says. She is correct. We do not need to hear from her. But the 18-year-old Grammy winner tells us anyway: “Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about.”
I’m really different from a lot of people, and I kind of try to be. I don’t like to follow the rules at all. If somebody tells me to do something, I’ll always do the complete opposite of what they tell me to do. If somebody starts wearing something a certain way, I’ll wear the complete opposite of that. I’ve always worn what I wanted to and always said what I wanted to say. I’m super, super out there. I try to dress this much above crazy. I like to be remembered, so I like to look memorable.
I think I’ve proved to people that I’m more important than they think. If I’m sitting there, if I tell you something, you’re not going to not listen to me. I don’t put up with that stuff. I’ve made my point to people that I have things to say and I’m going to say them, and if they don’t want me to say anything, then I’ll leave. I’m kind of intimidating, so people will listen up. I’m kind of scary. A lot of people are just terrified of me. I have a resting bitch face.
How to tell her that, no Billie, you are not kind of intimidating nor kind of scary? You simply are an 18-year-old successful musical performer who dresses, as you say, in a way aimed at getting attention to yourself, and now you have more attention. You want to be remembered. You need to prove to people that you are more important than they think. OK. You say you do not follow the rules and do the opposite of what people tell you to do. But, dear Billie, it is hard to break this news to you, but in your counter-culture environment, you are the ultimate conformist. When you dare stand on a Grammy Awards platform and advocate political conservatism, then you will be breaking the rules. And if you survive the night, or even if you do not, then you will be remembered.
“If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” Biden told radio DJ Charlamagne tha God on The Breakfast Club.
Ms. Washington, which is it? Conservatives truly want to believe that all people have independent minds and values, think freely and are diverse. But “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black”? Do you see the problem, Ms. Washington, when you leave the world of make-believe and find yourself confronted with hosting a candidate whose words and beliefs utterly contradict yours? At the very least, coordinate your talking points.
We now move to the illegal immigration issue. We get a sound bite of President Trump saying “These aren’t people … I don’t want them in our country … They’re animals.” The implication is that Donald Trump calls all Hispanics or Latinos “animals,” and certainly those who enter illegally. It is yet another lie, another vicious lie. The President specifically was referring at that time to MS-13 gang thugs, who have raped, maimed, disfigured. Even the New York Times conceded that context:
President Trump’s “animals” comment came during a White House discussion on Wednesday about so-called sanctuary cities. He was responding to Sheriff Margaret Mims, of Fresno County, Calif., who had recounted how California state laws were holding her back from cooperating with deportation efforts by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Sheriff Mims: “There could be an MS-13 member I know about — if they don’t reach a certain threshold, I cannot tell ICE about it.”
Mr. Trump: “We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we’re stopping a lot of them — but we’re taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals. And we’re taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before. And because of the weak laws, they come in fast, we get them, we release them, we get them again, we bring them out. It’s crazy.”
Next, we see Obama telling us about America as a nation of immigrants. It is interesting. In 2009-2010 Obama had the White House, a filibuster-proof Senate, and a solid majority in the House of Representatives. He could pass anything he wanted — like Obamacare. He likewise could have solved immigration issues any way he desired, once and for all. He did not. He barely even addressed the issue when he could have done anything he wanted.
Hillary Clinton comes next to tell us that “We need Joe Biden.” Interesting. She did not think that in 2008 when she ran against Obama and Joe Biden. She urges voters to get their ballots and to mail them in immediately — before the Republicans hold a Convention next week. America’s Perpetual Sore Loser tells us, yet again, that Trump stole the election and that she got three million more votes than he. How many times must she be reminded that the election was conducted according to certain rules. Trump followed the rules and aimed for electoral votes. She instead wasted money and time in California, overlooking key parts of the Midwest. Had Trump instead poured money into California, he would not have gained an electoral vote but would have drawn far more than three million additional votes to his tally. But why would he? Why should he?
Hillary’s sudden enthusiasm for a Biden whom she opposed in 2008 may be deciphered in part by news only days ago that Hillary has offered to serve as a cabinet secretary in a Biden Administration. Got that?
Next is Nancy Pelosi. She appears on Zoom, so she cannot distribute personalized Impeachment Pens to us.
Now Elizabeth Warren. She has no refrigerator behind her to pull a beer. “Joe Biden has some really great plans,” she tells us. He “will make our bankruptcy laws work for families.” OK. Let’s think that one through.
This is the same Elizabeth Warren who helped draft many of our bankruptcy laws and thereupon proceeded to make millions of dollars by helping corporations use the loopholes to evade their pension and healthcare obligations. As reported:
Warren parlayed her experience in crafting U.S. bankruptcy laws into a highly lucrative career by consulting corporations on the laws she helped write and charging them large sums of money for her services.
“It was the ultimate Washington leverage move,” Schweizer writes.
“Warren’s legal consulting work radically contradicts the claims she makes that she is a fighter for the middle class and against corporate America,” Schweizer explains. “Indeed, she was well compensated for more than a decade providing legal testimony for corporations attempting to avoid pension obligations and paying victims.”
Warren leveraged her legal expertise in corporate bankruptcy law by advising companies like Dow Chemical, Travelers, and LTV Steel — all of which were seeking bankruptcies to avoid liabilities from pensions or lawsuits.…
More often than not, “Warren’s legal consulting work was on behalf of large corporations who were using bankruptcy laws or bankruptcy trusts to avoid liabilities.” The bulk of her consulting work came from Caplin & Drysdale, “which represented a myriad of large companies that were going through bankruptcies,” Schweizer points out.
By 2012, Warren had a net worth of up to $14.5 million. Despite that, she continued to distance herself from the wealthy elite, denying her status as a one-percenter.
“I realize there are some wealthy individuals — I’m not one of them,” the then-Senate candidate, and owner of a $5 million house, stated on MSNBC in 2012.
She maintained that position all the way through her first senatorial bid.
We move on to Obama in Philadelphia. He tells us about “the stakes in this election.” “I hoped that Donald Trump might take the office seriously.” Such a shamefully conclusory put-down. Trump does not take the office seriously? After all the deregulating of business, addressing immigration concerns, building the strongest economy with the lowest unemployment rates ever recorded for Blacks, Hispanics, and women?
Obama continues: “Trump shows no interest in helping anyone but his family and friends.” Such a terrible lie.
As noted, the economy grew and opened doors for Americans of all walks of life through more than three years of the Trump presidency’s first term until this terrible international pandemic reached our shores and has done to us what it has done everywhere in the world to everyone in the world.
Obama continues, “Presidents should not use the office to enrich themselves or their supporters.”
How about this: Obama entered the White House with $1.3 million net worth. Today, barely three years after leaving the White House, he is worth more than $40 million. Not bad. Sign me up.
Hunter Biden, with no Ukrainian or natural gas background, got $50,000 a month to sit on the Burisma board. Indeed, Joe’s son Hunter, son-in-law Howard, brothers James and Frank, and sister Valerie all prospered magically and magnificently when Joe became Vice President. It’s all there in Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite by Peter Schweizer.
And Obama includes the Democrats’ meme: “Our Democratic institutions are threatened as never before.… This Administration has shown that it will tear our democracy down.”
Again, a pure lie. Through three years, President Trump has obeyed every court order. He has responded to every Congressional outrage either by accepting it or by challenging it in court. Even when stuck with cherry-picked Obama Judges, he has accepted the legal process and has appealed. If need be he has appealed to the Supreme Court. He has accepted every final ruling. He has not imprisoned Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. Trump has honored each and every institution of our democracy. When Pelosi would not invite him to deliver the State of the Union address, he did not — what? — replace her. He worked with her to resolve whatever had to be resolved. He accepted and complied with the impeachment process, as biased and fraudulent as it was.
Finally, Kamala Harris closes the speeches. She waxes warmly about Joe. He read bedtime stories to Beau and Hunter when they were boys. And yet, only a few months ago, she was calling Joe Biden everything but an outright racist — which he is — and agreeing with eight women who accused Biden of taking improper physical liberties with women. This is a woman who will say whatever she feels she has to say at the moment to ingratiate herself with the party machine. If she thinks they want “Medicare for All” and to close down private insurance, she will say she backs that. The next day, when they yell at her for saying she will end private health care, she reverses and says she did not mean it. If she is asked whether felons should vote, she will say “we should have that discussion.” The next day, after they yell at her and ask how she can have the Boston Marathon bombers voting, she reverses and says she did not mean what she said. If she thinks they want drug laws enforced, she will prosecute and lock up 1,560 people for marijuana offenses. Yet, as a candidate for the Democrat presidential nomination in 2020, she saw that the woke thing now is to brag about “smoking weed.” So she told a radio interviewer that she smoked dope in college while listening to Snoop Dogg and Tupac. But she got herself caught in another lie because no one even had heard of either of those two rappers in the 1980s when she was in college and law school. Both emerged a decade later.
She will say whatever she has to say to advance, and her past rise into Democrat political opportunity reflects manifestly that she will do whatever she thinks she has to do, regardless how reprehensible and vile.
